Our Chapter

District Labor Council 782 is a local chapter of SEIU Local 1000, CSEA.  We represent California state employees who work at the headquarters of the State Board of Equalization (BOE), Dept. of Housing and Community Development (HCD) and the Accounting Section of the Department of Social Services.

District Labor Council 782 is one of fifty chapters that represent state workers throughout California.

Local 1000 is a proud local union of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) - the fastest growing union in the American Labor Movement.  We are also an affiliate of the California State Employees Association (CSEA).

We represent our members, organize around issues, and build a political action program because we are Stronger Together.

The highest authority in our chapter is the membership which elects our chapter officers and local bargaining representatives.   Our members also set policy and approve our chapter's budget.  Join us during our meetings to see our members in action.

In between meetings of the membership, the chapter is administered by our elected Executive Board (E-Board).   We also have union stewards who make sure members' rights are protected in the workplace and professional staff who assist the chapter in more complex matters.
