Contract Enforcement and Representation
GRIEVANCES If you need representation concerning issues related to the Contract, please contact the Member Resource Center.
Contract issues normally include matters relating to your wages, hours and working conditions. Learn more about your Contract.
ADVERSE ACTIONS Adverse Actions are disciplinary matters such as termination from your job, a demotion, a suspension or a letter of reprimand or a counseling memo.
There are very strict timelines involved if you wish to appeal these type of actions. If you have been served by your department with an adverse action, contact the Member Resource Center immediately.
MERIT APPEALS 'Merit Issues' normally include matters relating to a rejection on probation and civil service exams (both written and oral). If you have any questions concerning an appeal of 'merit issues', please contact the Member Resource Center.
BARGAINING ISSUES Bargaining issues include questions relating to current contract negotiations, questions about recently negotiated agreements and bargaining proposals from both the state and the union.
Visit Local 1000's 2008 Contract Negotiations Page for the most current information.
If you have questions concerning matters related to bargaining, please contact the District Bargaining Unit Representative (DBUR) from your specific bargaining unit.

Worksite Administration and Organizing
EXECUTIVE BOARD (E-BOARD)
The District Labor Council (DLC) is your most frequent point of contact with the union. Our DLC is administered by an Executive Board ('E-Board') elected by members of the DLC. The DLC officers, the local bargaining representatives and the senior steward of each of the DLC's local worksites comprise the E-Board.
