Over three hundred
BOE employees attended the BOE building update meetings we scheduled
over a period of one week. Several hundred employees also have
already completed the survey on their experiences with the building.
Representatives from DGS, SEIU and the BOE's
health and safety consultant made presentations and answered questions
from attendees.
The next step in this campaign is to prepare
for the May 7 legislative hearing scheduled to discuss the funding for
the move of about 500 BOE employees out of the headquarters building.
We have an opportunity at this hearing to open discussions about
funding the relocation of all BOE employees out of the
problem-plagued building and to relocate to another facility.
If you are interested in attending the
legislative hearing, please contact us.
Pass the word along to your co-workers about the hearing.
If you are unable to join us at the hearing,
we encourage you to write a letter to Senator Darrell Steinberg and
Assemblyman Dave Jones who represent the area. We have sample
letters you can use.
Contact us to receive a copy.
Finally, please make your support for this
campaign visible by displaying our "Time to Move" pennants.
We want to thank those BOE employees who already have these on display
at their desk.
Contact us if you need a pennant.
